After 70 years of catering to food lovers, Gourmet magazine will stop publishing by the end of the year announced publisher Conde Nast.

Collectors have already told media outlets that they intend to stockpile copies of the November edition, likely to be the last.

Gourmet, which had about a million subscribers, apparently fell victim to declining ad sales, and the shorter financial leash publisher Conde Nast found itself in, leading it to review all its publications earlier this year.

The publisher also intends to shut down parenting mag “Cookie” and two of its wedding publications.

The case went cold for a time, until a tipster called police and put them on the trail of Paolilla and Snider in late 2008. Before he could be arrested, Snider killed himself. Paolilla was tried and convicted of first degree murder and is now serving a life sentence in a Texas prison.

“Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world’s problems alone,” said Obama in put-up-or-shut-up comments before a packed U.N. General Assembly hall. “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”

Obama’s message was nothing new, as countless American Presidents have come before the UN speaking of increased global cooperation. The difference however, was in the perception that Obama brought a fresh perspective to the table in stark contrast to his predecessor, who was known for presenting allies with “my way or the highway.”
