Black Friday Sale Ads 2009

Perhaps the financial analysts are right; the recession has come to an end. It is expected that Black Friday is going to be a boom day for both shoppers and businesses in most places in America. Recent surveys indicate that more people are going to go out shopping than the previous black Friday last year. It is estimated that close to 134 million people are going to hit the shops on Friday and the upcoming weekend, following thanksgiving. This number is up by 5 percent from 128 million the year before.

Said NRF President Tracy Mullin in an announcement, “Regardless of what we’ve already seen these last few weeks in terms of promotions, retailers still have a few tricks up their sleeves to excite Black Friday shoppers.”

Tracy says shoppers are expecting mega discounts and will not be disappointed on the cost of goods like toys, electronics and clothing. Of course, for many businesses it is a do or die situation and they have gone all out to reduce prices to make up for the lost summer sales.

Black Friday, the day after thanksgiving is expected to be a busy day for most department and discount stores. Surveys indicate that most people have set their eyes on stores like Wal-Mart, Best buy and Sears. While the public is in the mood to buy, it is not at the expense of buying expensive products- everyone is looking for a bargain.

Surveys indicate that by far, most individuals will go to the electronic stores (41%), followed by clothing retailers (36%) and 29 % will be busy buying groceries. At least 28% percent of shoppers indicate they will be busy shopping online, which is now a major part of most businesses in America.

To allow shoppers more time to buy, most stores have extended their working hours the entire weekend.

Because of the availability of door buster sales, at least 10% of bargain shoppers have said they will head to the stores as early as midnight. The majority of discount shoppers are expected to be in line by 9 am and so a mad rush is expected everywhere.

Wal-Mart already has many stores open 24 hours but will ensure that the other stores also extend the hours for shoppers.
