Bridges To Recovery, a Los Angeles based treatment center for people afflicted with mood disorders has increased its capacity by opening a new location near its Palisades based house.
Perhaps a sign of the times, admission to the treatment center has been up — people suffering from such disorders as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar and others are showing up at Bridges to Recovery from across the country to seek treatment.
Dr. Sharp, the clinical director for Bridges To Recovery, stated that the organization is “…pleased to be in a position where we needed to ask for permission to help more people” (in regards to the permit required for opening a new location). “We have always known there was a market to provide high quality care with first rate surroundings.” he continued.
Bridges To Recovery isn’t the only treatment center reporting record numbers in their admittance. Drug and alcohol centers around Los Angeles (many of them famous for admitting celebrities) have also recently reported upswings in business.
Whether this trend lends credit to those who say that the suffering economy and the year high unemployment rate cause more people to emotionally ‘break’ under the pressure is unknown. At the very least, these people are going to the right places – places where they can get help.
