After a stronger than expected performance on Cyber Monday, retailers have extended their Cyber Monday bargains, with Wal-Mart coining the term “Cyber Week bargains” yesterday when the retail giant announced that it would continue it’s Cyber Monday deals through the end of this week. Best Buy, Amazon, Radio Shack and Circuit City also have Cyber Monday bargains that are continuing throughout the week.
Circuit City was an unexpected winner yesterday. With circuitcity.com under new management, the retailer is seeking to recover from a disastrous year that led to bankruptcy and the shuttering of all of its retail locations. The retailer had a lot of competition from Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com, each of whom were offering big Cyber Monday bargains. Circuit City is probably a good bet for consumers as the week goes on, as the retailer has to make sales numbers in order to stay in business.
We’ve also been impressed by relative newcomer Tiger Direct, which sells a variety of items, but focuses on electronics. Through its site, tigerdirect.com, the online retailer cut deep with a very attractive set of Cyber Monday bargains, and the deals are expected to continue this week, with the retailer offering a very attractive set of Cyber Week bargains.
