Cyber Monday Deals – Target, Best Buy, Amazon.com

As cyber monday approaches, retailers are offering huge discounts to consumers in the hopes of getting them to spend aggressively during the holiday season, the bread and butter for online and regular brick and mortar retailers.  Target, Best Buy and Amazon.com have announced huge discounts starting early Monday morning, in the hopes of luring consumers who did not want to brave the malls on Black Friday.  In our brief survey, Target and Best Buy are actually offering better deals online that they did at their own stores on Black Friday.

Cyber Monday is traditionally the biggest single day for internet shopping in America, and online retailers count on it to remain in business.  In the early years of cyber monday, sites such as amazon.com used to slow way down, sometimes even crashing under the weight of dramatically increased traffic.  This  year, retailers have added capacity and hope that at worst their sites simply lag slightly as traffic goes off the charts.  Often retailers end up needing several days to normalize traffic on sites.

One of the best methods experts we talked to suggested was to search for online coupon codes using google to find even more aggressive deals from online retailers, as often times they issue limited release coupons that can end up saving hundreds of dollars at checkout.  Experts also suggest taking advantage of the online equivalents of door buster deals right after midnight Monday, as several online retailers have even better deals to try and attract customers while most of the world is still asleep.
