Thomas Keller opens Another French Bistro

Widely acclaimed chef, Thomas Keller, officially announced opening of his third restaurant based on the Bouchon Bistro concept, in Beverly Hills, Ca.

The chef’s Thomas Keller restaurant Group already manages The French Laundry in Yountville, Ca, Per Se in New York as well as Bouchon establishments in Yountville and Las Vegas.

Thomas who is from Oceanside, Southern California said he is excited to bring the French bistro idea home to the los Angeles area, a place where he started his early career as an manager of the Checkers Hotel in downtown LA.

The unique thing about the present bistro will be the Bar Bouchon, a 46 seat French Wine Bar that is planned to open sometime in December. On this floor, the bistro will serve a variety of wines and a la carte menu.

In the central dining space upstairs which can seat nearly 200 people, the menu will be similar to what is offered at the other bistros. Some of the classic dishes which have made Thomas Keller famous include the Grand Plateau, a two-tier platter of fresh seafood; roast leg of lamb with Swiss chard, pommes boulangere and lamb jus.

The restaurant was planned by Adam Tihany, and is situated in the center of Beverly Hills’ “Golden Triangle,” just a within a few minutes of the famous landmark, Spago.

Even with the downturn in the economy, the owner of this Bistro feels that the unique food and décor of the establishment will over ride any money concerns that customers will have. Of course, like all Thomas Keller establishments, this bistro is moderately priced. Entrees start at about $18 and go up to $38.

Rory Hermann is speculated to be the chef de cuisine at the new Bouchon bistro
